Description/Job Summary

The Benefits Analyst is responsible for leveraging benefits knowledge to support the Firm’s benefit invoicing and reconciliations, financial claims, Human Resources Information System ( HRIS) requests, data maintenance, analysis and reporting. This position works closely with varied departments, e.g. Benefits, Payroll, HR and Finance, to further Firm’s overall business goals and initiatives.


  • Assist with management of  invoices for carriers, administrators and vendors for Firm’s Health & Welfare and Retirement plans
  • Provide technical support to Benefits team on data analytics, annual plan audits, government filings, benefit integrations, and other related compliance activities
  • Perform premium and records audits against carrier, payroll, and HRIS databases to maintain accuracy
  • Work with Payroll, Finance and utilize the HRIS to ensure benefit financial accuracy
  • Perform general ledger reconciliation of all benefit plans; analyze gaps in reconciliations and provide recommended resolutions
  • Participate in Open Enrollment planning sessions, testing HRIS functions and support implementation of new benefit plans
  • Provide phone and email support during the Annual Open Enrollment period
  • Assist with the creation of Partner benefit statements
  • Perform routine audits to ensure the accuracy and integrity of benefit information into systems
  • Recommend process improvements to streamline benefit work streams
  • Evaluate, develop, implement, and provide support for HRIS and associated processes within the firm
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Required Experience

  • 3-5 years of benefits related experience
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, plan and multi-task work activities in a high pressure environment
  • Experience in benefit finances/accounting
  • Experience in benefits systems and working with benefit plans
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel to include macros, vlookups,  pivot tables and other functionalities
  • Exceptional analytic abilities and attention to detail
  • Ability to work in team environment, as well as independently
  • Strong technical aptitude with the ability to learn various systems and databases

Preferred Experience

  • Previous knowledge of HRIS and payroll systems (i.e., Workday, UltiPro, ADP)
  • Familiarity with major benefit laws and regulations, including COBRA, HIPAA, ERISA, and Heath Care Reform

Required Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, HR, or related field
