Description/Job Summary

The Hardware Specialist is responsible for conference room setups and breakdowns, PC installs, moves and repairs.

Responsibilities/Duties

  • Set up and configure desktops, telephone and wire management and peripherals for all new employees, including installing, diagnosing, repairing and upgrading all hardware and equipment to ensure an optimal workstation
  • Perform user equipment relocations to new offices; back-up/restore processes of local files and applications from one PC to another
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment, replace parts, such as memory, hard drives, system boards, fans as needed; accurately document instances of hardware failure, repair, installation and removal
  • Identify and escalate hardware issues; coordinate with vendors to repair PCs, telephone and printer equipment
  • Image or re-image PCs with Firm’s standard desktop image; support IT needs for clients and other unique requests such as V-lan setups, Web Conferencing and new technologies
  • Work with 2nd and 3rd level support diagnosing and troubleshooting escalated issues
  • Act as point of contact during Manager’s absence
  • Liaise with Conference Services to set up and break down conference room equipment in accordance with department guidelines and user specifications
  • Travel required as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Required Skills

  • 3 to 5 years of relevant experience required
  • Ability to effectively present information verbally and in writing
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Must be able to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet and exceed deadlines
  • Basic computer skills in software imaging, TCP/IP networking technologies, Windows 10, Lenovo and Dell desktops and laptops, Mac, and SIP Phone Technology
  • Audio/Visual experience a plus
