Description/Job Summary

The HR Recruiter is responsible for performing all aspects of the staffing and recruitment function. This role develops and executes recruiting plans that cater to and fill each specific staffing need and is an integral partner in managing recruiting activities; working closely with the HR team and internal clients. The ideal candidate will have a passion for recruiting and a proven record of successfully hiring talented employees.  The ability to accurately assess candidates and the desire to provide excellent customer service are critical.


  • Partner with hiring managers and HR team members as appropriate to determine staffing needs
  • Work independently with internal clients and HR colleagues to accomplish recruiting goals
  • Develop and execute recruiting plans
  • Build applicant sources by researching and contacting varied sources e.g. community services, colleges, employment agencies, media, and internet sites
  • Develop and maintain a rapport and excellent communication with internal and external clients to ensure achievement of staffing goals
  • Perform phone screens, interviews, reference checks and onboarding; and administer assessment tests
  • Determine applicant qualifications by interviewing applicants; analyzing responses; verifying references; comparing qualifications to job requirements
  • Create and present prescreening questions to HR and/or hiring managers
  • Coordinate interviews for other HR team members
  • Generate and maintain detailed and proper recruitment documentation
  • Remain current on and adhere to firm personnel policies and applicable employment laws
  • Manage Applicant Tracking System (ATS) including uploading, posting & reviewing job descriptions, managing positions and candidate activity
  • Work with HR Analytics team on compliance and reporting requirements
  • Perform additional duties as needed

Required Skills

  • 2-3 years of recruiting and interviewing experience
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal & written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with a variety of people
  • Exceptional organizational skills and effective time management; ability to multi-task, prioritize work and meet deadlines in a pressured environment
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and appropriately handle sensitive information with tact and discretion
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Prior experience using tools such as LinkedIn and job boards to recruit
  • Experience using various types of software programs including Applicant Tracking Systems

Preferred Skills

  • 4-6  years of recruiting and interviewing experience at a law firm or professional services organization
  • Experience creating recruiting metrics such as time to fill and cost per hire
  • Experience in diversity recruiting

Required Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business or related field required
