Description/Job Summary

The Senior Coordinator, Office of the General Counsel, will provide day to day support to the firm’s General Counsel. The General Counsel works closely with the firm’s Chairperson, Executive Committee, Administrative Partners and Executive Director on a variety of firm related matters. The General Counsel also liaises extensively with several of the firm’s committees (including the Client, Compliance, Compensation, Finance, Insurance, Non-Equity Partner (NEP) and New Partners Committees) and has specific responsibility for the NEP Program, Risk Management, and Litigation / Claims, among other matters.

The ideal candidate will be an independent self-starter with strong analytical and organizational skills, exhibit excellent judgement, and have an unwavering commitment to discretion (given exposure to highly confidential and often privileged information).  The Senior Coordinator, Office of the General Counsel, will work closely with the General Counsel and the Assistant General Counsel in establishing the newly created Office of the General Counsel and ensuring the right practices and protocols are in place as it relates to the firm’s policies and programs.

Responsibilities/Duties

  • Administer the firm’s Non-Equity Partner (NEP) Program, this includes:
    • preparing the General Counsel for individual NEP and related discussions
    • developing NEP dashboards including performance metrics
    • creating standard processes related to NEP program administration (e.g., establishing annual calendar, coordinating with finance on NEP dashboards, preparing materials for committee meetings)
  • Assist General Counsel in reviewing / monitoring / tracking firm risk management matters, this includes:
    • docket of claims, subpoenas, and related matters
    • formal policies (e.g., confidentiality and restricted list policy, STB IT Acceptable US Policy, EU Insider List Policy, Anti-Money Laundering Policy)
    • bar registration and CLE compliance
    • tax filings (firm and individual partner); other partnership filings
  • Assist General Counsel with matters related to firm committees
  • Meeting preparation for Executive Committee meetings (developing agenda and materials, liaising with other departments as needed)
  • Assist with management and executive presentations
  • Develop and maintain annual calendar for the Office of General Counsel
  • Analytic management & support
  • Assist with ad hoc and special projects, as needed

Required Skills

  • 5+ years of related experience in HR, data analytics, process design, and/or project management
  • Prior law firm experience desirable

Required Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance or related field
