Description/Job Summary

The Coordinator of DEI is responsible for assisting the Chief of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) and the Director of DEI in the development and implementation of DEI and gender initiatives, the coordination of programs and events, as well as data management.


  •  Provide general administrative assistance to the DEI department and relevant Firm committees and councils, including scheduling, preparing meeting agendas and minutes, coordinating committee projects and initiatives, and budgets
  • Lead the coordination and management of DEI calendar invitations, DEI calendar and events to ensure successful integration of DEI programming into the Firm’s overall calendar
  • Support Manager of DEI and Senior Coordinator with logistical support of DEI and gender initiatives, including affinity group/inclusion network activities, Women and Diversity Councils’ meetings, and DEI training
  • Validate demographic diversity data and complete client and third party DEI data requests, including RFPs and benchmarking surveys
  • Interact with members of the various affinity groups and inclusion networks to ensure DEI objectives are achieving results of greater inclusion at the Firm
  • Provide support and attend DEI events both internally and externally as a representative of the DEI team
  • Conduct research and prepare reports on internal and external statistics, including various monthly reports
  • Assist with bi-annual Diversity Leadership Conference
  • Create draft copies of periodic Diversity & Women’s Initiatives Newsletters and related communications on Firm diversity programs and events
  • Coordinate with the Legal Recruiting, Personnel & Professional Development teams in support of the Firm’s diversity and gender initiative
  • Draft correspondence and communications to various internal and external audiences regarding diversity initiatives
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Required Skills

  • 2 or more years of experience required
  • Cross-cultural skills and awareness related to individuals from broad backgrounds, races, ethnicities, religions, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity and disability, among others
  • Ability to effectively present information verbally and in writing
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to communicate clearly and interact effectively with a variety of people, including partners, attorneys, all levels of administrative staff, and outside contacts; professional appearance and engaging communication style
  • Ability to take initiative and complete work independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Able to use diplomacy and discretion; excellent judgment, including sensitivity to confidential information
  • Can prioritize and plan work activities; adapts for changing conditions and works effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong proficiency in MS Office Suite, particularly with Excel and creation of charts for Power Point presentations

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in diversity, recruiting or human resources preferably in legal or professional services environment(s)
