Description/Job Summary

The IT Hardware & Facilities Assistant’s primary responsibilities are desktop and laptop imaging, configuration, installation, quality control, telephone handsets and accessories. Perform deskside support, conference room setups and breakdowns, equipment moves and repairs. Responsibilities further include assisting and providing coverage with daily operations, inbound and outbound mail, monitoring equipment and general inventory supply, document management services and office service requests.


  • Set up and configure desktops, telephone and wire management and peripherals for all new employees, including installing, diagnosing, repairing and upgrading all hardware and equipment to ensure an optimal workstation
  • Perform user equipment relocations to new offices; back-up/restore processes of local files and applications from one PC to another
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment issues, replace parts, such as memory, hard drives, system boards, fans as needed
  • Provide accurate written documentation for instances of hardware failure, repair, installation and removal
  • Identify and escalate hardware issues; coordinate with vendors to repair PCs, telephone and printer equipment
  • Image or re-image PCs with Firm’s standard desktop image; support IT needs for clients and other unique requests such as V-lan setups, Web Conferencing and new technologies
  • Work with 2nd and 3rd level support diagnosing and troubleshooting escalated issues
  • Liaise with Conference Services to set up and break down conference room equipment in accordance with department guidelines and user specifications
  • Perform office services and facilities duties as assigned
  • Provide team coverage as needed
  • Local travel as needed

Preferred Skills

  • Basic computer skills in imaging, networking, Windows 10, Lenovo and Dell hardware products, Mac, and SIP Phone Technology.
  • Ability to effectively present information verbally and in writing
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Must be able to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet and exceed deadlines

Required Experience

  • 1 year of relevant experience required

Required Education

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent required

Preferred Education

  • Professional Certifications (Comptia A+, Net+), Associate’s degree
