Description/Job Summary

The Business Development Assistant is responsible for providing support to the Business Development team, assisting with related communications, administration, and coordination of meetings and events, ensuring the Firm’s high standard of excellence is met.


  • Provide support to the Business Development team on various BD and marketing initiatives
  • Assist with drafting and maintaining attorney biographies, pitch materials and directory submissions
  • Contribute to research efforts, including preparation of competitive intelligence reports, analysis and related requests
  • Assist with matter management efforts ensuring that the Firm’s deals and cases are accurately reflected in the Firm’s experience database system and across other channels
  • Assist with distribution of varied marketing materials and Firm communications, such as event invitations, memos, etc.
  • Support the execution of client and departmental events and meetings, including coordination of conference logistics
  • Create, revise and proofread communications, documents, presentations, name tags, marketing materials and other documents as needed; ensure correspondence and documents are compliant with the Firm’s format and policies
  • Process expenses through Chrome River expense application
  • Assist with special projects and perform other duties as needed

Required Skills

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, Excel & PowerPoint and Adobe Pro
  • Strong learning aptitude
  • Strong attention to detail and self-motivated to produce accurate, timely and complete work product
  • Ability to anticipate requests for information essential to meet internal and external client needs appropriate to their role, providing exceptional customer service
  • Can organize, prioritize, plan and multi-task work activities, with the ability to effectively meet deadlines
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a highly competitive and demanding environment
  • Must be flexible and willing to work additional hours as needed

Preferred Experience

  • 1 year of relevant business experience preferred
  • Previous experience in a law firm, marketing or professional services field preferred

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Major in Advertising, Marketing, Communications, Public Relations or related field preferred
