The Benefits Coordinator is responsible for providing administrative support to the Health & Wellness department and to assist in the day-to-day coordination and support of multiple benefit programs, health & welfare plans and wellness initiatives as part of the Benefits team. This role ensures day-to-day administration of benefits. As a main benefits point of contact for employees, the candidate must have excellent customer service skills.
Responsibilities/Duties
Addresses benefit related inquiries, claims, and complaints, ensuring timely resolution to employee issues relative to benefits and escalating as appropriate
Conducts benefits orientation
Assists in the administration of health, dental, life insurance, 401K, FSA and COBRA benefits, FMLA & LOA requests, and various employee benefits; review eligibility, enrollment, claims resolution, change reporting, terminations, and verify and maintain accurate employee benefit information in the HRIS
Supports the open enrollment process, employee education / training sessions and update the Firm’s intranet site and employee orientation benefit information as directed
Prepares and distributes of reports, notices and other communications
Assist with reconciliation and management of employee records ; perform data base verification, edits and corrections, system audits and updates as needed
Analyzes data flows for process improvement opportunities; recommend and help implement new workflows and processes for improved efficiency of HRIS operations and benefits administration
Responsible for reconciliation and payments of monthly benefit bills for all carriers
Works with benefits vendors to provide assistance and informational resources
Liaises with HR, Finance, and IT groups to troubleshoot, investigate and resolve problems; make recommendations, determine escalations and report findings to the Director, Benefits
Performs various administrative duties, assist in other related duties ( Health Fair, Blood Drives, Flu Shots, Commuter Benefits) and assist with special projects as needed

Required Skills
Minimum 2 years experience in benefits administration or related administration
Proficiency in Microsoft applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Experience working with a Human Resources information system (HRIS)
Detail oriented, with strong organizational skills to ensure responsibilities are completed
Ability to adapt quickly to change and work under stress with shifting priorities
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to provide effective recommendations and resolutions
Good judgment and sound decision-making ability
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy and confidentiality when preparing and entering benefits information
Preferred Skills
Benefits experience with heavy exposure to HRIS systems, especially Workday preferred
Working knowledge or HR/Benefits principles and practices and applicable state laws and regulations preferred
Required Education
Bachelor’s degree human resource or business or related field required
Preferred Education
Experience and/or training in computer applications, spreadsheets and data management
