The Practice Technology Engagement Manager is responsible for providing lawyers and paralegals across all practice groups with technical expertise, advice and support pertaining to an array of legal technology solutions. In particular, the Practice Technology Engagement Manager oversees the e-discovery, Case Management and other matter-specific solutions and initiatives in connection with the Firm’s delivery of legal services.
Responsibilities/Duties
Evaluate and analyze incoming e-discovery data in order to recommend the optimal means of attorney review
Advise clients and litigation case teams in connection with the technical aspects of document retention and collection issues in e-discovery
Advise litigation teams in their negotiations with opposing parties in regards to the technical portions of Electronically Stored Information (“ESI”) protocols
Review e-discovery vendor contracts, make contract language revision proposals and counsel attorneys on appropriate contract provisions
Initiate and manage e-discovery engagements with vendors
Counsel attorneys on issues that should be considered in connection with cross-border review and production of data
Assist with the assembly and preparation of document productions, privilege logs, and data exports
In matters where documents are hosted in-house, manage document review and production end-to-end
Administer Case Management software
Administer Extranets utilizing HighQ
Provide legal teams with insight into structured data
Administer, support and monitor due diligence document review platforms
Administer, support and monitor document automation solutions
Administer, support and monitor documents extraction solutions to obtain valuable business information
Liaise between the legal teams, vendors and other Firm business functions to ensure support of practice-specific systems
Design training material, conduct training and prepare systems documentations
Perform other duties as assigned
Required Experience
Minimum of seven years of relevant experience required
Familiarity with all phases of discovery in litigation and good conceptual understating of the EDRM Model
Demonstrated Subject Matter Expertise in the field of e-discovery
Project management skills with ability to multi-task among multiple time-sensitive matters
Work effectively across work groups and assist in the coordination of information and take leadership when appropriate
Ability to anticipate problems, gather information, analyze and make recommendations
Ability to use diplomacy and discretion when participating in meetings with clients and other parties
Ability to effectively present information verbally and in writing
Ability to maintain strict confidentiality at all times
Ability to adapt well to changing priorities and respond to situations as they arise with minimal supervision
Experience in gaining adoption of new technical solutions brought into law firms or corporations
Strong vendor management skills
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Critical thinking and attention to detail
Experience working both independently and in a team oriented, collaborative environment
Working knowledge of Relativity, Brainspace, NexLP, Opus 2, HighQ, and other market leading legal software
Working knowledge of industry standard tools related to handling and processing ESI for document review and production
Ability to parse and edit industry standard load files associated with e-discovery and document review platforms
Strong technical skills and aptitude with a willingness to learn new software
Experience using enterprise visualization tools, e.g. MS Power BI
Required Education
Bachelor’s degree is required

Salary Information
The estimated base salary range for this position is $120k to $150k at the time of posting. The actual salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job. This role is exempt meaning it is not overtime pay eligible.
