Description/Job Summary

The Manager, IT Communications is responsible for developing the overall communication strategy and plans to amplify all IT activities, initiatives and announcements. The Manager will have a proven background in IT communications and is knowledgeable in IT concepts and simplifying these where needed. The Manager must possess a roll-up-your-sleeves attitude, meticulous attention to detail, and an ability to understand and communicate the IT strategies, priorities and impact, along with the ability to juggle projects and day to day priorities.

Responsibilities/Duties

  • Develop and implement the overall brand and communications strategy for the IT Department
  • Create and articulate the brand voice for IT to formalize and standardize all IT communications
  • Provide guidance and support to senior stakeholders on how to craft and develop content that is engaging for any IT communications including announcements and projects communications
  • Create, support and maintain IT communications toolkits, including standard templates for global use and location/office specific announcements where necessary
  • Coordinate and manage the schedule and delivery of IT communications and announcements, building a results driven approach to message delivery and overall engagement. This will include but not limited to Cyber security campaigns, new applications releases and updates, IT newsletters, employee training materials, service desk communications, IT service updates and IT organization announcements
  • Develop and manage a communication calendar aligned to IT priorities with the ability to flex as critical announcements are needed
  • Build strong relationships with key IT stakeholders to drive visibility, timing and consistency of all IT messaging across the department
  • Assist the IT teams with crafting launch communications and awareness campaigns around various IT applications, services and projects
  • Coach communication and training teams on best practices, standards and ways of working to drive continual improvements within the team
  • Monitor the overall effectiveness of the IT communication strategy, ensuring continual improvements steps are taken
  • Spearhead the exploration of new and innovative ways to reach and engage a diverse range of internal audiences

Required Experience

  • 5+ years in a communication role with experience in IT communication
  • Knowledge of IT concepts, with the ability to communicate and simplify technical concepts
  • Strong communication and collaboration experience, including a shown ability to develop strategies
  • An outstanding writer, editor, and content creator who is versatile across a range of formats and delivery channels (digital and person-to-person)
  • Competence articulating complex content and concepts in a clear, concise, and compelling manner
  • Results and detail oriented, highly organized and creative self-starter; Ability to set goals and easily adapt to changing demands;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Motivated and confident self-starter who can take both guidance and initiative with minimal oversight
  • Experience with various communication platforms is a plus

Required Education

  • Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, or related field ideal or related expereince.

Salary Information

The estimated base salary range for this position is $150k to $180k at the time of posting. The actual salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job. This role is exempt meaning it is not overtime pay eligible.
