Description/Job Summary

The Accounting Assistant is responsible for staff level accounting duties including preparation and recording of journal entries, general ledger account analysis, bank reconciliations, disbursement processing, trust accounting, online banking and payroll processing. 

Responsibilities/Duties

  • Prepare various balance sheet reconciliations and financial analyses
  • Prepare monthly US and non-US bank reconciliations
  • Process bi-monthly US and non-US disbursement uploads
  • Perform escrow accounting tasks
  • Perform monthly closing activities including preparing and posting general journal entries
  • Process online banking transactions including, but not limited, to importing of employee expense reimbursement files, wires and ACH transfers
  • Report daily cash receipts and cash balances for primary operating accounts
  • Assist with recording and reporting information in and from fixed asset inventory system
  • Communicate with Accounting staff at other offices on inquiries and discrepancies
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Required Skills

  • Ability to effectively present information verbally and in writing
  • Basic math skills: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division
  • Intermediate knowledge of MS Excel
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Can organize, prioritize, plan and multi-task work activities, with the ability to effectively meet deadlines in a high pressure environment
  • Strong understanding of basic accounting concepts, GAAP and financial analysis techniques

Preferred Skills

  • Knowledge of 3E financial system preferred
  • Experience in external/internal auditing or law firm preferred

Required Experience

  • 1 years of relevant work experience required

Required Education

  • Bachelor’s degree Accounting required

Salary Information

The estimated base salary range for this position is $65k to $75k at the time of posting. The actual salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job. This role is non-exempt meaning it is overtime pay eligible.
