The Financial Analyst is responsible for assisting management with all aspects of monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting. Position will include matter modeling, analysis, forecasting and various other aspects of financial analytics. They will liaise with practice and office heads, practice management and administration directors to complete all finance related requests. They will also assist in various profitability tracking and budgeting analytics and reporting.
Responsibilities/Duties
Assist in creation of monthly and ad-hoc profitability analyses across offices, practices, clients, matters, etc.
Complete various reconciliation processes around cost and bill rate maintenance
Prepare, review and analyze reports related to expense management including budget versus actual benchmarking
Assist with analysis of client, matter , office and practice metrics, communicating trends and implications to firm decision makers (CFO, practice/office heads, etc.)
Create pricing models to assist with competitive bid proposals and budgeting for internal matter management
Liaise with practice management professionals to build reports to more effectively manage the business and analyze financial results to identify areas of improvement and opportunity
Gather financial data for RFPs for existing and perspective business development opportunities
Develop new approaches to integrate information that will improve access to information for firm decision makers
Identify unusual patterns that require further action and make recommendations for action to management
Perform other duties as assigned
Required Skills
Ability to effectively present information verbally and in writing
Superior analytical skills
Basic math skills: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division
Advanced knowledge of MS Excel; proficiency in MS Word and PowerPoint
Ability to take initiative and complete work independently with minimal supervision
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
Preferred Skills
Experience with 3E or other legal billing system
Required Experience
3 to 5 years of financial analysis and/or legal billing experience in legal or related field required
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required
Preferred Qualifications
Degree in Accounting or Finance preferred

Salary Information
The estimated base salary range for this position is $80k to $95k at the time of posting. The actual salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job. This role is exempt meaning it is not overtime pay eligible.
