The Data Steward is responsible for supporting the Business Development department by organizing, maintaining and analyzing information and data to improve the efficiency of data-related processes and expand the ability to report on Business Development activities. The Data Steward will work with various teams throughout the Department to capture and input data into a centralized CRM database. This role will require the ability to synthesize information from various sources, including media reports, research platforms, BD work product, etc. The Data Steward should have experience working in Excel and maintaining records within a CRM database.
Responsibilities/Duties
Support the quality of the Firm’s CRM database by analyzing records, evaluating data sources and implementing accurate updates
Improve data integrity by utilizing research platforms and data maintenance reports to identify out of date and incomplete information
Convert Business Development activities into structured data to improve the Firm’s ability to identify opportunities and stay connected to our clients
Maintain distribution lists by reviewing email bounce-backs and outdated contacts
Conduct research on new companies and contacts to improve reporting capabilities
Support the Communications team with cataloging media activity and Firm accolades, generating reports and maintaining records in the Firm’s CRM database
Assist in collecting, organizing and maintaining transaction experience and competitive intelligence reports for use across multiple channels
Support Business Development projects and other Firm initiatives as needed
Perform additional duties as needed
Required Skills
1 plus year of entry level data entry or data management experience required
Demonstrated ability to perform these and other general business development routine assignments from an entry level to a professional role
Must be able to work independently and collaboratively in a highly competitive and demanding environment
Strong attention to detail and self-motivated to produce accurate, timely and complete work product
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong project management skills, initiative and the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently
Must be comfortable working in a data and research-heavy role
Ability to apply logical thinking to gathering and analyzing information
Proficiency in MS Office programs such as Outlook, Word, and Excel, with particular emphasis on the ability to manipulate and manage technical data
Must be flexible and willing to work overtime as needed
Preferred Skills
1 plus year of office experience preferred
Prior experience researching and analyzing data preferred
Prior experience updating a Client Relationship Management (CRM) system
Required Education
Bachelor’s degree required
Preferred Education
Major in Technology, Business or related field preferred

Salary Information
NY only: The estimated base salary range for this position is $55k to $65k at the time of posting.
The actual salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job. This role is non-exempt meaning it is overtime pay eligible.
