Description/Job Summary

The Financial Reporting Analyst is responsible for the creation and distribution of regularly scheduled financial reports (e.g. billing, revenue, and statistical) within the Firm. This includes both scheduled and ad hoc reporting, with the goal of increased transparency and usability throughout the Firm. The Financial Reporting Analyst will be required to work across all levels of Firm personnel and collaborate across administrative groups (within Accounting and outside of the department).

Responsibilities/Duties

  • Design and distribute monthly, quarterly and annual billing related financial reports centering on, but not limited to, billing, revenue, and various financial statistics
  • Assist management with the creation and distribution of report requests as needed
  • Ability to manage a large volume of reporting requests and reporting schedules
  • Develop and modify reports using 3E, Microsoft SSRS Report Builder, Ideate Dashboard, Microsoft Power BI Desktop, and other reporting software
  • Assist with periodic reporting to Firm management for use in the annual compensation review processes
  • Design and distribute ad hoc and subscription based reporting for the Billing and Collection department, partner, clients and other stakeholders as requested
  • Review presentation and functionality of reports and make recommendations for improvement
  • Assist with special projects, system upgrades, and testing as needed
  • Ability to think critically and adapt existing tools to solve problem
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Required Skills

  • Experience with Microsoft SSRS Report builder, SQL, Microsoft Power BI Desktop and/or other financial dashboards
  • Ability to effectively present information visually, verbally and in writing, tailored to a specific audience   
  • Basic math skills: add, subtract, multiply, and divide
  • Working knowledge of MS Excel and other commonly used office software

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with 3E or other legal billing systems preferred

Required Experience

  • 3 to 5 years of financial reporting experience in legal or related field required

Required Education

  • Bachelor’s degree required

Preferred Education

  • Degree in Finance or Accounting preferred

Salary Information

NY only: The estimated base salary range for this position is $80k to $95k at the time of posting.

The actual salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job. This role is non-exempt meaning it is overtime pay eligible.
