Description/Job Summary

The Legal Recruiting & Associate Life Coordinator provides support for both Legal Recruiting and Legal Talent departments in the DC office. Including but not limited to, implementing the Summer Associate program, Lateral Associate recruiting, mentoring and day-to-day administrative support.  This role provides general administrative support with regards to all associate life initiatives, planning and coordination of events, and serving as a point of contact and resource to all DC Associates. 

Responsibilities/Duties

  • Coordinate campus registration process for fall on-campus interviews (OCI), including working with Partners and Directors to determine number of schedules
  • Reserve and setup on-site interview rooms as necessary
  • Provide candidate interview status updates to Recruiting Committee Partners during OCI season
  • Schedule attorneys to interview candidates both off and on-site
  • Communicate and coordinate follow-up visits for candidates with offers
  • Develop Summer Associate event calendar with Summer Associate Committee and Director of Administration; propose, plan, and execute events
  • Coordinate Summer Associate assignments, evaluations and review process; prepare review packets for Partners
  • Complete bar admission forms/tracking
  • Coordinate lateral recruiting for office
  • Communicate with Summer Associates between completion of Summer Associate program and onboarding in the fall
  • Assist with the developing the annual recruiting budget
  • Maintain familiarity with general and regional legal recruiting trends; attend annual NALP Conference
  • Facilitate Career Services and Law School relationship building and engagement; promote the Firm’s presence on campus
  • Provide support to existing mentoring programs to ensure the success of multiple programs aimed to increase mentoring opportunities in the DC office.
  • Send communication regarding mentors and tracking quarterly meetings
  • Tracks expenses charged to the mentoring, congratulatory, fitness reimbursement and other attorney related expenses and provide budget reports to the Manager of Legal Recruiting & Associate Life
  • Prepare onboarding paperwork for new attorneys, process paperwork, and help coordinate new hire orientation
  • Coordinate new and current attorney headshots and business cards
  • Coordinate practice group trainings and meetings
  • Perform other duties as assigned

  • Highly dependable and demonstrated consistent, effective administrative and clerical performance for the accomplishment of responsibilities and defined objectives
  • Strong administrative and data management skills
  • Proficiency with MS Office including Word and Excel and PowerPoint required

Required Experience

  • 2 - 3 years of legal recruiting and/or legal talent experience required

Preferred Experience

  • Previous experience working in an administrative capacity in a large law firm
  • Proficiency in Flo Recruit, vi and other similar recruiting systems preferred

Required Education

  • Bachelor’s degree required
